Once upon a time, the television was called the idiot box. I have often wondered whether that critique referred to what was being shown or to the ones watching it. Either way, I have learned not to turn on that sleek plasma screen too often. It’s far too easy to get pulled in. If something truly important happens, I trust I’ll hear about it in passing.

We’re told there’s so much to fear these days. But I’ve learned that where the mind goes, the body follows. The mind is a powerful instrument, capable of breaking us or lifting us into transcendence. I chose the latter.

This month, I’d like to introduce or reintroduce you to the quiet companions many of us have forgotten. Or never realized they were there all along: our Guardian Angels.

Angels, in essence, are frequencies of light and consciousness. They are beings that move beyond religion or belief, luminous expressions of love, peace, and guidance that arise when our hearts are open to receiving. Some traditions name them; others feel them as colors, tones, or subtle currents. From childhood, I was taught to call on them for help, and through years of energy work I’ve learned that their presence responds almost immediately to sincere requests.

Each one carries a unique vibration that supports a particular aspect of our growth and healing. I invite you to call upon these angels for assistance with any challenges you may be encountering in your life. When we ask for their help, we align ourselves with higher frequencies of compassion and wisdom. Their perspective is not limited by time, ego, or emotion, so they can gently guide us toward clarity when we feel lost, strength when we feel weary, and peace when the heart longs for rest. To ask is to remember that we are never meant to walk alone.

Archangel Michael

Michael’s energy is strong, protective, and fiercely loving. When fear creeps in or self-doubt begins to whisper, Michael is the steadying hand that cuts through confusion. He is the vibration of courage and truth, helping us rise when life tests our boundaries. His light often appears as deep blue sapphire. A pure strength that clears stagnant energy from our space and mind.

Archangel Gabriel

Gabriel is the current of communication and creativity. Her frequency opens the throat and heart, helping us speak honestly and live our message. Writers, teachers, and those seeking direction often feel her inspiration as a spark that can’t be ignored. Her light feels bright, like clarity breaking through fog.

Archangel Raphael

Raphael’s name is synonymous with healing energy, both physical and emotional. His presence moves through Reiki sessions, through the touch of a compassionate hand, and through the quiet moment when we finally choose to rest. His energy flows emerald, green, vibrant, restorative, and full of life force. Whenever we open to wholeness, Raphael meets us there.

Archangel Uriel

Uriel brings illumination and grounded insight. When our path feels dim or our emotions stormy, Uriel steadies the mind and anchors our awareness. His energy is practical wisdom, a knowing that comes from within after the noise has cleared. His light is often golden, like the calm after lightning.

Archangel Zadkiel

Zadkiel carries the violet flame of transformation. His vibration helps dissolve old pain, guilt, and judgment so we can return to compassion. Forgiveness, both of self and others, happens easily in his field. You may feel a sense of softness or expansion in the chest when he’s near, as though your heart suddenly remembers its natural state is mercy.

Archangel Sandalphon

Sandalphon connects Heaven and Earth, harmonizing the divine and the human. He translates our prayers, intentions, and emotions into frequencies that the universe understands. Musicians, sound healers, and sensitives often feel him through rhythm and melody. His energy hums through music that heals, tears that cleanse, and moments that feel perfectly timed.

Archangel Metatron

Metatron embodies sacred order and energetic structure. His energy organizes chaos into clarity, aligning the chakras and refining the nervous system as we evolve. Those who are awakening or integrating higher frequencies often sense his guidance through intuitive downloads.

These are only a few among countless luminous beings who support the awakening of humanity. They won’t interfere with our free will, but they always respond to openness. You don’t need special words or rituals, only a clear heart and intention. A single thought of gratitude, a breath of invitation, or a soft whisper of “help me see clearly” is enough to draw them nearby.

In my Reiki practice, I invoke their presence to help me remain a clear channel and to help my clients become receptive to healing energy. I feel their arrival as goosebumps across my skin. Reiki is, after all, the movement of universal life energy, the same current angels use to reach us. When we connect to that flow, we step into partnership with the unseen helpers who wish to restore harmony on every level.

Before you reach for the remote, take a quiet moment. Close your eyes. Breathe into your heart. Invite one of these radiant allies to stand beside you. Ask for courage, healing, or guidance. Whatever your spirit needs most and listen for the subtle signs around you.

Truth doesn’t shout over the noise of the world. It speaks softly through intuition and through the frequencies of love that have always surrounded us. May we all remember the power we hold to walk each other home to wholeness.
