The Hidden Dangers of Food Dyes and
the Role of Colon Hydrotherapy in Detoxification
by David DeHaas
In recent years, the food industry has come under scrutiny for the use of synthetic food dyes. These vibrant colors, often found in candies, sodas, and processed foods, are not merely aesthetic; they can pose significant health risks. Research has linked food dyes to a range of adverse effects, particularly in children, including hyperactivity, allergies, and even more severe health issues like ADD, ADHD. As awareness grows, many people are seeking ways to detoxify their bodies from these harmful substances. One method gaining attention is colon hydrotherapy.
The Dangers of Food Dyes
Food dyes, such as Red 40, Yellow 5, and Blue 1, are ubiquitous in many processed foods. These artificial additives are derived from petroleum and coal tar and are often added to enhance the appearance of products. However, numerous studies have raised concerns about their safety. The Feingold Diet, for instance, suggests a connection between artificial colorings and increased hyperactivity in children, leading some parents to eliminate these dyes from their children’s diets.
Beyond behavioral issues, food dyes have been associated with allergic reactions, including hives and asthma. Some dyes are also linked to more serious health concerns, such as cancer and organ toxicity. As these chemicals accumulate in the body, they can disrupt normal metabolic processes and lead to a range of health problems. There are over 10,000 food chemicals approved for use in food in the US compared to 400 in the UK.
Detoxifying Through Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon hydrotherapy, also known as colonic irrigation, is a process that involves flushing the colon with water to remove waste and toxins. Any time chemicals get trapped in the tissues and organs, such as the liver, the body innately will store these toxins until it’s safe to eliminate them. But elimination is prohibited in many cases because of constipation. Opening up the biggest detox pathway, the colon and small intestine, is job one in being able to eliminate these chemicals. Once this pathway is clear the body is more able to eliminate these chemicals.
During a colon hydrotherapy session, filtered, warm water is gently introduced into the colon through a small tube. This process helps to soften and dislodge impacted waste, allowing it to be expelled naturally. By cleansing the colon, individuals can enhance nutrient absorption, improve digestion, and even promote a healthier immune response.
Our clients experiences at Living Waters Wellness Center has consistently shown that the body responds very quickly to healing once we get rid of the toxins. Many notice that their brain seems sharper, they may sleep better, skin is smoother and glowing, and joint pain diminishes.
On our most recent 10-day Healing retreat we saw the following symptoms retreat: Acid Reflux, brain fog, severe pain, POTS, food allergies, MCAS, Auto Immune, Gas/Bloating, PMS, Sinus issues, migraines, Constipation, Fibromyalgia, Frequent urination at night.
