How many times have you set goals, visualized your desired outcomes, created and repeated positive affirmations, and yet not achieved what you had hoped for? There are numerous potential causes for this. It can be a lack of sincere desire; a failure to keep it in the forefront of your thoughts or timing. Sometimes it’s simply a matter of words.
Every sound we speak sends out an energy wave and with every sentence we speak, we are improving or destroying our health, relationships, finances, or self-esteem. Words in sentences are energy directed. Here is the true story of a woman who had an incurable disease of the eyes. Her doctor told her she was going blind and there was nothing he could do. Being very determined, she turned to alternative therapies for a possible cure, and something she would never have done had she not been in this desperate situation.
A friend recommended a therapist who taught self-healing techniques, so she made an appointment. During her visit, the therapist asked her to describe her life, and then let her talk for about ten minutes. Suddenly, the therapist stopped her and said, “Did you know that in the last ten minutes you said the words ‘I hate to see’ fifteen times?”
The woman was shocked that she used the words “I hate to see” before many statements. This was literally an eye-opening experience for her. She switched her words then and now, years later, she enjoys perfect vision. What words, how many words do we use that frustrate our desires? The words “I am” tell every part of you---your personality, your ego, your subconscious, your spirit--- who you are! “I am” defines who you are.
Be very careful what you place after those words.
Never say “I’m Sorry.” Two of the most powerful words in the English language are the words I AM. When you say, “I’m sorry,” you are saying that you are a sorry individual! Replace the words with “I apologize.”
The same goes for “I’m sick, I’m tired, or I’m stupid.” Replace those words with “I feel_____” to eliminate indicting yourself with negativity. I remember years ago when I used the phrase “That’s to die for!” Boy, am I glad to have had a special friend correct me. What a terrible phrase to unconsciously use and not understand its powerful and challenging affect.
Another very important aspect of conscious language is the Law of Focus. We create whatever we place our attention on. It is important to focus on the positive things desired rather than the negative things we want to avoid.
Often overlooked is the need to avoid words that are negating, i.e., a word like limitless is drawing the subconscious mind to focus on limits. This is not what you want! So, the phrase “limitless abundance” places limits on the abundance.
The word “effortless” can draw effort. It might be useful to eliminate this word or become very conscious in the use of it. “Easy” is a better word.
Want to discover an amazing insight? Please re-read your journal entries; with a red pen, circle any negative language you see on the page. Write a story about your past or childhood and afterwards use the red pen to circle the negative language. You may discover some of that which is held deep in your subconscious mind by seeing the words used to express the Self.
Have a child or a friend write you a little story and then circle the words that are challenging. This can give you insights into the active energy of words!
Remember: Say it into being!
