The Road to Clarity
by Susan Fullmer

We are living in an unprecedented time in human history. This is a paradigm shift. As the energy of the earth and the human race rises and transforms, it is both an exhilarating time and a time of great upheaval. Why are we here and what are we about? These concepts can no longer be set on the back burner for another day. We can ride this great, gathering wave of change and let it take us to where our souls long to be. Or we are crushed by it. The day-to-day ups and downs, the relationship dances in which we twirl, and the inner longings and hopeful inklings we experience are all simply fodder for the soul work we are here to do. With clarity, we are able to move forward in a meaningful and intentional way.

But how do we achieve such clarity? The sages and gurus seem to have it, but is that even possible for us mere mortals of humbler status? I think it is. And I think the path to get there is easier than it seems. Easy, because the “steps” to clarity are truly quite simple. Then why don’t more people seem to be in that blissful state of being? Can I manage my life from a place of deep, inner knowing? And what would this world look like if we all did more of that?

First of all, I feel this process is a lifelong endeavor. We don’t simply arrive at a finish line of clarity, then to be able to tick it off the to-do list. These skills and abilities (because the process of getting clear can be learned) are best utilized when woven into the tapestry of life on every level. What are these skills and abilities? Here’s the great part, the list is long. And what works will differ from person to person. For example, yoga may bring peace and clarity to one person while shamanic journey may be the cat’s meow for someone else. Explore. What calls to you? Try that. And if you have found something that works for you, don’t be afraid to branch out and try something new. I have found over the years that what brings me clarity now, may not work as well later on. I believe this is the Divine telling me not to get stuck in a rut. There is more to explore!
